Shillong: The Government of Meghalaya has been recognised for its exceptional performance in Aadhaar-related services, earning two prestigious awards at the Aadhaar Samvaad 2025, held on April 8 at the Bharat Mandapam Convention Centre in New Delhi.
Meghalaya received accolades as the Best Performing State in Mandatory Biometric Updates (MBUs) for children and in the Verification of Adult Aadhaar Enrolments.
The awards highlight the state’s efforts to ensure comprehensive and accurate Aadhaar enrolment for residents across all age groups.
Shai Kupar War, Nodal Officer for Aadhaar under the General Administration Department (GAD), accepted the awards on behalf of the state.
Dr. Joram Beda, Commissioner and Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya and State Nodal Officer for Aadhaar, praised the achievement, attributing it to the dedication of the state’s Aadhaar team.

“This recognition reflects the unwavering commitment of our team, from field staff to district officials and technical experts. I congratulate everyone who contributed to this success,” he said.
The General Administration Department reaffirmed its commitment to collaborating with UIDAI and other departments to enhance Aadhaar services, ensuring every resident in Meghalaya has access to their unique identity and essential government schemes.
