Shillong: The Meghalaya Public Service Commission (MPSC) on Tuesday issued separate notices announcing personal interviews for Assistant Engineer posts and placing the recruitment process for sericulture-related positions on hold in compliance with a High Court order.

In a notice dated February 3, 2026, the MPSC said that personal interviews for the post of Assistant Engineer (Group B) in the Office of the Chief Engineer, Water Resources Department, will be held on February 17, 2026. The post was advertised in May 2025.

Eligible candidates have been advised to download their call letters from the official MPSC website at mpsc.meghalaya.gov.in.

In a separate notice dated February 4, 2026, the Commission said the recruitment process for the posts of Sericulture Inspector, Reeling Foreman and Manager under the Directorate of Sericulture and Weaving, Department of Textiles, has been put on hold.

The decision follows a communication from the Joint Secretary, Department of Textiles, along with a court order passed by the High Court of Meghalaya in WP(C) No. 3 of 2026 dated January 28, 2026.

According to the notice, Advertisement No. 21/2025 dated December 19, 2025, and the subsequent public notice dated January 23, 2026 — which advertised 14 vacancies for these posts — will not be given effect to until WP(C) No. 555 of 2025 and other connected matters are heard by the court.
