Shillong: Meghalaya Police on Wednesday announced the arrest of three youths in connection with the October 9 violence at Lapangap in West Jaintia Hills, which led to the death of a 45-year-old Karbi man.
Those arrested have been identified as Pyrchang Dkhar (25) of Lapangap, Everyshine Tyngkan (25) of Saba, and Deibormi Bhoi Lamare (27) of Barato-B.
All three have been remanded to Jowai District Jail.
Police said the arrests were made several days after the incident that claimed the life of Orivel Timung, a resident of Tapat village under Donka sub-division of Assam’s West Karbi Anglong district. Further investigation is underway.
