Meghalaya HSSLC results: Science stream achieves 87.27% pass rate; Commerce follows with 80.81%

SHILLONG: Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) announced the much-awaited results for the Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) examinations 2024 for Science, Commerce, and Vocational streams on Wednesday.

Science stream highlights:

In the Science stream, the state witnessed a commendable overall pass percentage of 87.27%, showcasing a significant improvement from last year’s 78.84%.

Sohan Bhattacharjee from Laban Bengalee Boys’ Hr. Sec. School, Shillong, emerged as the top scorer, securing an impressive 483 marks.

Following closely, Gordon Kupar Nongbri from St. Edmund’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong, secured the second position with 476 marks.

Overall, of the 3426 students who appeared for the examination, 1,778 candidates achieved first division in the stream, with a pass percentage of 87.03%, while 2,985 candidates secured second division, reflecting a pass percentage of 87.13%.

Among male candidates, 1,383 appeared, with 544 achieving first division, 590 securing second division, and 73 obtaining third division.

Meanwhile, among female candidates, out of 2,043 who appeared, 748 attained first division, 965 secured second division, and 65 obtained third division.

Commerce stream highlights:

In the Commerce stream, the pass percentage stood at 80.81%, a slight increase from the previous year’s 79.31%.

Ferry Filarisha Wann from St. Mary’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong, clinched the top spot with an outstanding score of 472 marks.

Raj Paul from St. Anthony’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong, secured the second position in the state with 463 marks.

Among the 2,162 candidates who appeared for the Commerce stream exams, 679 successfully passed.

Among male candidates, out of 1,157 who appeared, 316 secured first division, 504 second division, and 115 third division.

Similarly, among female candidates, out of 1,005 who appeared, 363 achieved first division, 442 second division, and 60 third division.

The Meghalaya MBOSE HSSLC exams 2024 were conducted between March 1 and March 28, 2024, providing students with an opportunity to showcase their academic prowess and dedication.
