Paris: The 2nd Edition of the Indo-French Football Tournament 2025 kicked off in Paris with an unforgettable opening match, as the Meghalaya football team delivered a breathtaking performance against US Grigny FC, securing a dominant 4-0 victory.

The U-17 football team of Meghalaya’s Myngken Christian Higher Secondary School was selected to represent India at the 2nd edition of the Indo-French Football Tournament.

The match, held at Grigny Stade, saw an unexpectedly high level of play from the Indian team, leaving the French side and spectators in complete awe.

The French team, known for its strong game play, was not expecting such a competitive level from the Indian squad, but the Meghalaya players showcased exceptional skill, speed, and tactical precision.

Among the spectators were the Deputy Mayor of Sports, the Deputy Mayor of Grigny, and the Director of Sports, all of whom were visibly impressed by the Meghalaya team’s display.

Their fast-paced attacks, defensive solidity, and structured gameplay made a powerful statement about the rising standards of Indian football.

The 4-0 scoreline is not just a victory for the team but a huge moment for Indian football on international soil.

This performance proved that Indian teams can compete at a high level against well-established European clubs.

The energy, teamwork, and resilience shown by the Meghalaya team have set the tone for the tournament.

On March 26, the Meghalaya team played against Versailles FC, one of the strongest clubs in France.

The Indo-French Football Tournament is proving to be a gateway for Indian football in France, creating new opportunities for young talents and strengthening sporting ties between the two nations.
