Shillong: In a celebration of athletic excellence and dedication, a felicitation ceremony was held on Monday at the Headquarters of the Eastern Air Command (EAC).
Air Marshal Surat Singh, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief (AOC-in-C), honoured the exceptional achievements of sportspersons who have brought laurels to the command through their remarkable performances in various Air Force-level championships.
The annual championships, organised under the aegis of the Air Force Sports Control Board, feature multiple sports disciplines and culminate in the award of the prestigious “Sardar Baldev Singh Challenge Cup.”
These championships not only encourage healthy competition but also aim to nurture camaraderie and discipline among Air Force personnel.
The Eastern Air Command delivered an outstanding performance this year, clinching first place in Basketball, Hockey, Cross Country, Handball, and Mountain Biking events.

These accomplishments contributed to the EAC securing the overall runners-up position for the coveted Sardar Baldev Singh Challenge Cup.
