AMPATI: South West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner Hema Nayak chaired a District Coordination Committee (DCC) meeting on Monday at the DRDA conference hall at Ampati in Meghalaya.
The meeting was held to review the progress of various schemes and address pressing district-level issues.
In addition to reviewing the progress of various schemes and projects in the district, the meeting addressed a range of departmental and inter-departmental challenges that could be resolved at the district level.
The Deputy Commissioner also expressed deep concern over the district’s educational scenario, including the alarming dropout rate among school children and the dismal performance in SSLC exams.
She said, “Immediate and strict action from the department concerned and all district stakeholders is the need of the hour to reverse the declining educational standards.”
The day-long meeting, facilitated by the Planning Department, was held in the presence of senior district officials, Block Development Officers, and heads of various departments.
