Shillong: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma extended his best wishes to students appearing for the Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) SSLC and HSSLC exams, which began on Monday.
In a brief video message posted online, Sangma encouraged all students to give their best in the upcoming exams.
A record 64,369 students have enrolled for the SSLC exams this year, marking a significant increase from the previous highest of 64,269 students in 2021, when special considerations were made due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Director of Shillong MBoSE, M. Marbaniang, explained that the large number of candidates this year reflects the government’s decision to ensure that every student participates in the exams, with necessary adjustments made for student selection.
Due to the upcoming KHADC and JHADC district council elections on February 21, some examination dates have been rescheduled.

The SSLC Mathematics/Special Mathematics exam, originally set for February 21, will now take place on February 25.
For HSSLC students, the Physics, History, and Sociology exams, which coincided with the election counting date on February 24, have been rescheduled to March 6 (Physics and History) and March 18 (Sociology).
Additionally, the vocational exams for poultry farming-IV and computer technique-IV, initially set for February 21, will now be held on March 19.
