Shillong: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma inaugurated a Creative Learning Centre at Dobakkol in East Garo Hills district on Monday.
“Delighted to inaugurate the Creative Learning Centre at Dobakkol, built to nurture young minds with innovative, activity-based learning. Grateful for the collaboration that made this vision a reality,” CM Conrad Sangma said in a social media post.
This project has received Rs 50 lakh in funding from the Chief Minister’s Special Development Fund.
The Creative Learning Centre is a collaborative initiative between Mere Mentor and the Dobakkol Non. Govt L.P. School, Tura.
The centre seeks to enrich the educational experience of children by incorporating activity-based and game-based learning methodologies.
The centre places a strong emphasis on vital skills such as perceptual, motor, cognitive, language, socio-emotional, and self-regulation skills.
By fostering a well-rounded and engaging learning environment, the center seeks to promote holistic growth and equip children with the skills and confidence to thrive in the future.
The chief minister on Monday also laid the foundation stone for the long-awaited Greater Tura Urban Water Supply Scheme at a ceremony held at the Tura District Auditorium.

This ambitious project aims to address the water shortages faced by the town of Tura and improve the quality of life for its residents.
The Tura Urban Water Supply Scheme, estimated to cost Rs. 398.48 crore, is designed to provide Tura with a sustainable and reliable water supply.
