SHILLONG: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma called on Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu at the latter’s residence in Itanagar on July 21.
Sangma met his Arunachal Pradesh counterpart during a 2-day tour to the state to attend a felicitation ceremony for five newly elected National People’s Party ( NPP) MLAs.
Taking to social media, CM Khandu said, “Shri Sangma Ji is a versatile personality and visionary. He is deeply connected to the grassroots and is working very hard for the all-round, inclusive development of the State.”
The Meghalaya chief minister also discussed with Chief Minister Khandu a slew of issues regarding cooperation and collaboration for fostering growth and development in the Northeast region.
“Called on Hon’ble Arunachal Chief Minister @PemaKhanduBJP ji during my visit to Itanagar today. Had the privilege to discuss issues concerning cooperation and collaboration for fostering growth and development in North East region.”
Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, along with his brother James Sangma, celebrated the success of the NPP in the recent assembly elections in Itanagar during his visit to the state.
Conrad Sangma, who also serves as the President of the NPP, felicitated the five NPP MLAs who emerged victorious in the recently held assembly elections in Arunachal Pradesh.
Notably, the NPP secured a significant foothold, becoming the second-largest party in Arunachal Pradesh with a 21% vote share across all 60 seats.
“Our party’s emergence as a significant force in Arunachal Pradesh is proof of the hard work and dedication of our candidates and supporters,” Sangma said during the felicitation ceremony.
