Shillong: In a display of compassion, Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma and Health Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh acted swiftly to assist in a road accident near Mawkdok on Sunday, offering immediate support to the victims.
The two were returning from Sohra when they encountered a vehicle that had been involved in an accident, with two tourists from Assam sustaining minor injuries.
Upon noticing the distressed situation, the chief minister’s convoy stopped, and both Sangma and Lyngdoh took charge of the situation.
A doctor who was traveling with the chief minister quickly assessed the injured tourists and administered first aid, ensuring they were stable while awaiting further assistance.

An ambulance was immediately called to the scene, and the victims were safely transported to the hospital for additional medical care.
The swift response of the chief minister, health minister, and their team earned commendations from local onlookers, who praised their timely intervention and demonstrated the importance of empathetic leadership in times of crisis.
