Shillong: Martin Luther Christian University (MLCU) has collaborated with PRIME Meghalaya for hosting the highly-anticipated Impact Week.
The week-long event, which was held from July 4 to July 11 at the Martin Luther Christian University campus, aimed at fostering innovation and leadership among aspiring young leaders.
The event aimed at developing solutions for pressing issues in Meghalaya such as pollution, sustainable tourism, youth employment and waste management.
The Impact Week commenced with a three-day training programme, which was designed to equip junior coaches with the necessary skills and strategies to inspire and guide the next generation of innovators.
The event also saw junior coaches taking the lead in training students from 15 different institutions across Meghalaya.
The sessions provided a platform for students to engage in hands-on workshops and collaborative activities, creative problem-solving and innovative thinking.
The collaboration with PRIME Meghalaya exemplifies MLCU’s commitment to nurturing young talents and fostering community engagement through impactful educational initiatives.
The final day of Impact Week at the university was graced by the presence of Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma and other dignitaries.
The Chief Minister expressed his admiration for the creativity and dedication demonstrated by the young innovators.
Speaking on the CM-ELEVATE initiative that intends to handhold and finance 20,000 entrepreneurs from the State, Sangma said it is one of the most aggressive entrepreneurship programmes in the country and around ₹300 to 400 crore have been earmarked as subsidy for entrepreneurs.
The Impact Week, a collaborative effort between MLCU and PRIME Meghalaya, concluded on a high note, marking a successful chapter in the university’s mission to support and develop young leaders for the future.
