Khlehriat: The East Jaintia Hills Police have identified the fourth victim in the gruesome murder case that shocked the state of Meghalaya on July 6.
The deceased has been identified as Loba Tamang, a resident of Umpleng in East Jaintia Hills district of Meghalaya.
A week ago, four bodies were found in Umpleng, each bearing multiple injuries and with their hands bound.
Three other victims have already been identified as Rajesh Rai (26), Nasar Kyndait (33), and Ravi Rai (23).
The police have so far arrested one suspect in connection with the murder case.
However, details regarding the arrest and the suspect’s identity remain undisclosed for the investigation process.
According to police, all the four victims were known to be involved in drug use and peddling.
The bodies of the victims with hands and feet tied and cut marks in the neck were found in a forest on the outskirts of Umpleng village by labourers working in a secluded area on July 6.
The Law enforcement officials stated that the investigation is underway to identify and nab the additional individuals involved in the crime.
