Shillong: Five remarkable women from Meghalaya have been invited to take part in the upcoming Republic Day Parade at Kartavya Path in New Delhi.
These women will be part of an exclusive group of 35 representatives from the North East, celebrating the region’s invaluable contributions to the vision of Swarnim Bharat.
This year’s Republic Day festivities will feature 10,000 special invitees from across the nation, among whom are 35 individuals representing the North East.
The delegation includes eight participants from Assam, 22 from Sikkim, and five from Meghalaya.
The participants from Meghalaya were selected under the aegis of the Ministry of Women and Child Development.
They are Grethilla R. Marak from South Garo Hills, Bibiana Dkhar and Julida Dkhar from East Jaintia Hills, Darihun Pyngrope from Ri Bhoi District, and Wenylia Merceeds D. Sangma from East Garo Hills.
These exceptional women have been honoured for their achievements as entrepreneurs, recipients of national accolades, and beneficiaries of flagship government programs.

While in the capital, these esteemed guests will not only witness the grandeur of the Republic Day Parade but also explore renowned landmarks, including the National War Memorial and the PM Sangrahalay.
Furthermore, they will engage in interactive discussions with top government officials, enriching their understanding of India’s cultural legacy and current governance initiatives.
