Ampati: With the theme Science and Technology for a Sustainable Future, a ‘District-Level Science, Mathematics, and Environment Exhibition for Children 2024-2025’ was successfully held on Tuesday at the multi-facility centre at Ampati in Meghalaya’s South West Garo Hills district.
The exhibition was organized by the District School Education Officer (DSEO) of South West Garo Hills to encourage young minds to explore innovative ideas and sustainable solutions for the future.
Chingky G. Momin, in-charge Principal of Ampati Government Higher Secondary School, graced the event as the chief guest, while T.Ch. Marak, School Education Officer (SEO), presided over the event.
A total of eight schools from across the district took part in the exhibition, showcasing innovative projects that reflected creativity and scientific understanding.
The awards for the best presenters were distributed, with Nogrim G. Momin of Class IX, Ampati Government Higher Secondary School, securing the first prize.
Tanbeer Mehtab of Class VIII, Harishanti Niketan Vidyalaya Secondary School, and Riddhima Hajong of Class VIII, St. Claret Higher Secondary School, Ampati, were awarded the second and third prizes, respectively.
The winners will represent South West Garo Hills at the State Level Science Exhibition to be held in Shillong, where they will compete with participants from across Meghalaya.

The exhibition provided an exceptional platform for students to demonstrate their creativity and problem-solving skills by showcasing innovative scientific and technological solutions to global and local issues.
