Jowai: The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Meghalaya on Tuesday organised a “Juggle the Football” competition in Jowai to engage with the youth as a part of its ongoing voters awareness programme.

The competition took place at the Chutwakhu Club, a century-old socio-cultural and sports hub in Jowai.

Dr BDR. Tiwari, the CEO, stressed on the importance of engaging youths in voter awareness, leveraging their passion for football.

Risly Pssah, Chairman (Sports) of Chutwakhu Sports Club, hailed the initiative as an effective means to connect with the youth of Jowai.
“It is a great way to engage with the youths of Jowai,” Passah said, expressing gratitude to CEO Tiwari for choosing Chutwakhu Club for the “Juggle the Football” event.

Distinguished members of the Chutwakhu Sports Club graced the event, witnessing intense competition among budding football talents from nine clubs in Jowai.

The triumphant players were honoured with coveted “Golden Boots” and exclusive merchandise, including branded footballs, crafted to foster voter awareness for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections scheduled for April 19 in Meghalaya.

Furthermore, another exhilarating “Juggle the Football” contest, spearheaded by the CEO in collaboration with Smit Football Club and Seng Samla Shnong, unfolded on Monday in Smit.
