Khliehriat: A man’s body was discovered in Lad-Lakadong village in East Jaintia Hills, Meghalaya, on December 17 at around 8 am.
Following the discovery, Sub-Inspector S Bamon and his team immediately launched an inquiry into the matter.
The deceased was found lying in a jungle area near the Lad-Lakadong to Borghat road.
After conducting a preliminary examination and completing all necessary legal formalities at the scene, the body was removed and sent to the Civil Hospital in Khliehriat for post-mortem examination.
The body has been placed in the morgue at the hospital.
The East Jaintia Hills District police are continuing their investigation to determine the cause of death and any possible leads related to the incident.
The deceased is about 50-55 years of age, has fair complexion and was wearing a blue jacket and a yellow t-shirt.
