The Chief Minister announced a new tradition with the initiation of Meghalaya Day celebrations, coinciding with the conclusion of the Meghalaya Games.
This symbolic linkage aims to instil a sense of pride and identity in the sporting community.
Looking ahead to groom national and international level athletes, Sangma revealed plans for centres of excellence in different disciplines, providing professional support and guidance.
“Without professional support, without professional guidance, we will not be able to compete at the national and international level. So, therefore, a professional approach, specialisation will be the next step for this government,” he stated.
