Imphal: The security forces in Manipur have destroyed four illegal bunkers during combing and search operations in several areas of Imphal East District.
The combined security forces, comprising the Army, BSF, CRPF, and State Police, have been conducting comprehensive search and combing operations within the district since December 28.
The operation focused on areas like Sabungkhok Khunou, Shantikhongbal, Thamnapokpi, Sanasabi, Uyok Ching, and Natum Ching, particularly those bordering Thamnapokpi and Sanasabi villages.

During the operation, security forces successfully flushed out armed miscreants from these areas.
Furthermore, four illegal bunkers were destroyed, while three other bunkers were successfully occupied by security forces, both in the valley and in dominating hill areas.
A combined team of the Army, BSF, and CRPF has also established a presence in the dominating areas of Uyok Ching.
This operation signifies a significant step towards enhancing security and maintaining peace in the region.
The Manipur police on Sunday arrested two active cadres of PREPAK organization from Sangaiprou Mamang Leikai, Imphal West District.
The duo were involved in extortion activities from various individuals including elected members.
The arrested cadres have been identified as Leishangthem Napoleon Meitei and Thokchom Amujao Singh.

The police have seized three mobile handsets, twelve demand letters, and a four-wheeler from their possession.
