Imphal: At least 2,332 people have tested positive for dengue in Manipur so far this year, while one person has succumbed to the vector-borne disease, according to an official report.
Between January 1 and October 11, a total of 5,613 samples were tested, the report stated.
The figure represents a sharp increase of 979 cases compared to the same period in 2024, when 1,353 infections were recorded.
Imphal West district reported the highest number of cases with 1,679, followed by Imphal East with 363. Bishnupur and Thoubal districts reported 68 and 63 cases, respectively, while the lone fatality occurred in Bishnupur.

Among the hill districts, Senapati recorded the highest number of infections with 45 cases, followed by Ukhrul with 23. Churachandpur and Kangpokpi reported three and two cases, respectively, the report added.
