The Twelfth Manipur Legislative Assembly session will resume on March 9, an official notification issued on Friday said. Officials said the state budget is likely to be presented during the proceedings.
The seventh session of the Assembly had earlier commenced on February 5, 2026, with the Governor’s address and was adjourned by the Speaker on the same day.
For the upcoming session, the Business Advisory Committee meeting with the MLA Speaker, Thokchom Satyabrata, is expected to be held on Friday at around 4 pm.
The one-day sitting took place a day after Yumnam Khemchand Singh was sworn in as the 13th Chief Minister of Manipur on February 4, bringing an end to the Assembly’s suspension that had been in effect since February 13, 2025.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Tongbram Robindro Singh had earlier stated that the budget session would be convened after the festival of Holi.

The motion was later passed after discussions involving Leader of the Opposition Okram Ibobi Singh and MLAs K. Ranjit, Kh. Meghachandra, Th. Lokeshore, and Surjakumar Okram.
