Imphal: The Manipur government on Wednesday launched an online grievance redressal portal aimed at providing citizens with a convenient, transparent, and efficient platform to register and track complaints related to government services.
Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla inaugurated the portal, named ‘GovConnect Manipur’, at Raj Bhavan in the presence of the Chief Secretary and other senior officials.
The state, currently under President’s Rule following last year’s ethnic violence, expects the new system to improve citizen-government interaction.
According to officials, the portal allows 24×7 grievance registration, instant confirmation with a unique tracking ID, and WhatsApp integration for real-time updates through the widely used messaging platform.
Calling the initiative a “transformative leap for the administration,” Governor Bhalla said it reflects the government’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and responsive governance. He urged citizens to actively use the platform to strengthen people-centric governance in the state.

Manipur has been reeling under ethnic clashes between the Meitei and Kuki communities since May 2023, which have claimed over 260 lives and displaced thousands. The government hopes digital measures like GovConnect will help restore trust and efficiency in public service delivery.
