Besides, the residents of both Churachandpur and Imphal West districts also surrendered arms and ammunition.

The Churachandpur Police Station received an SLR 7.62mm rifle with a magazine and three .303 rifles with magazines.

Security forces have intensified search operations across vulnerable areas in the hill and valley districts to enhance security.

In a raid at Leirongthel Pitra Foothills in Thoubal District, authorities recovered an SLR rifle, four SLR magazines, 105 rounds of AK ammunition, 142 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, three rounds of 5.56mm ammunition, and three rounds of .303 ammunition.

Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla recently appealed to members of all communities to surrender looted police weapons and illegally held arms at the nearest police station.

He said if the weapons were not surrendered, strict action would follow for possession of arms.

Urging all communities in the Valley and Hills to voluntarily come forward and surrender looted and illegally held weapons, Ajay Bhalla said that returning these weapons would be a powerful gesture towards ensuring peace.
