Imphal: The Manipur government has extended the suspension of mobile internet services in nine districts for another two days, citing concerns over potential law and order issues.

The initial internet shutdown was imposed on November 16 in response to escalating violence following the recovery of the bodies of three women and three children, who were allegedly abducted by Kuki-Zo militants.
Subsequent protests and arson attacks led to the expansion of the internet ban to nine districts.
Manipur has been plagued by ethnic clashes between the Meitei and Kuki communities since May 3, 2023, resulting in over 250 deaths and widespread displacement.
