Imphal: The Manipur government has ordered the transfer of 14 police officers, including the superintendents of police (SPs) of two districts, according to an official notification from the Personnel and Administrative Reforms department issued on Tuesday.
As per the order, Jiribam SP Shaikh Mohd Zakir has been reassigned as the SP of Kakching district, while Priyadarshini Laishram, who previously held the position of SP Kakching, will now take charge as SP of Jiribam.
Additionally, Gaurav Dogra, formerly SDPO Yairipok, has been transferred to the post of SDPO Singjamei.
Assistant Commandant of 1st Manipur Rifles, Abhinav, will assume additional responsibilities as the Additional Superintendent of Police (SP) for Kangpokpi district.
In further reshuffling, Akoijam Sadananda Singh has been appointed as the new Additional SP Traffic (Imphal East), while Keisham Bojoukumar Singh has been moved to the post of Additional SP Vigilance.
Meanwhile, Rattana Ngasekpam will now serve as the Additional SP CID (SD), the order stated.
Security forces arrest three for extortion
In a separate development, security forces have apprehended three individuals, including a cadre of a banned militant outfit, on charges of extortion in Manipur’s Kakching and Imphal East districts, police said on Wednesday.

A member of the proscribed PREPAK-Pro outfit was arrested on Tuesday from Aihang village in Kakching district.
“The individual was actively involved in extortion activities in Wangoo Chairel and Pangaltabi areas of Kakching district,” the police reported.
