Speaking at an event marking Rashtriya Ekta Diwas at 1st MR Parade Ground, Singh highlighted the importance of “responsible behaviour” from both the media and the public to ensure the preservation of peace and tranquillity in the state.

According to a national news agency, government officials clarified that “unauthorised” and “unorganised” organisations refer to entities that have not received official registration from the state government. This category also encompasses any ad hoc civil organisations formed by a small group of individuals.
The Chief Minister’s call for restraint also extended to the general public. He urged people to exercise caution when expressing their opinions on various media platforms, as such expressions “could inadvertently provoke enmity and exacerbate the existing tensions in the state”. Singh stressed that in such turbulent times, it is imperative for everyone to act responsibly.
The Chief Minister also called for a spirit of reconciliation and unity, urging the people of Manipur to “forgive and forget” the past and join hands in the pursuit of peace and stability. He highlighted the potential for resolving political differences through dialogue and peaceful negotiations, underlining that unity and collaboration are vital in the effort to restore peace to Manipur.
