IMPHAL: Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh extended his gratitude to the Central Government for approving Rs. 777.61 crore for the development of the Shangshak-Tengnoupal stretch of NH-102A.
In a post on X, Singh wrote, “I express my sincere gratitude to Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji for his unwavering commitment to Manipur’s development, and I thank Hon’ble Minister of Transport & Highways, Shri @nitin_gadkari ji for sanctioning a budget of Rs. 777.61 crore for the Shangshak-Tengnoupal Road (Package-3) section of NH-102A in Manipur.”
Highlighting the significance of the project, Singh added, “This initiative will play a pivotal role in unlocking sustainable development in the state by boosting economic growth, improving connectivity, and promoting eco-tourism in the region.”
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari had earlier announced the sanction via his own post on X.
He stated, “In Manipur, we have sanctioned Rs. 777.61 crore for widening and upgrading the Shangshak-Tengnoupal Road (Package-3) section of NH-102A. Under the Annual Plan 2024-25, the project aims to convert the existing single-lane road into a two-lane configuration with a hard shoulder.”
The development of NH-102A is expected to boost regional infrastructure, streamline travel, and foster growth across multiple sectors, particularly in tourism and trade.
