Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh has said the state government is firmly committed to strengthening and expanding the state’s startup ecosystem.
Speaking during the launch of DIGI-SAPNE 2.0, the chief minister said the initiative would provide selected startups with guidance from mentors, better access to markets, opportunities to secure funding, and financial support of up to Rs 80 lakh.

He said the initiative would help young businesses expand their ideas, create jobs and compete at both national and global levels, while also supporting balanced growth in the region.
DIGI-SAPNE 2.0 is a startup acceleration programme for the Northeast. It is being implemented by the Atal Incubation Centre Sikkim Manipal University Technology Business Incubation Foundation, with support from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, to promote innovation and entrepreneurship in the region.
Singh said India has changed from being a job-seeking country to a job-creating one over the past few decades, and added that DIGI-SAPNE 2.0 aims to bring this vision to the grassroots level in Manipur.

He said Start-up Manipur has emerged as a frontrunner in building a robust startup ecosystem in the 5th edition of the States’ Startup Ecosystem Ranking, and termed the recognition as proof of the dedicated efforts of government officials, institutions, entrepreneurs and policymakers.
