Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh has met a delegation of the United Naga Council at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat to discuss issues related to peace and stability in the state.
The delegation was led by UNC president Ng. Lorho and included members of the organisation’s executive body.
Losii Dikho, Deputy Chief Minister of Manipur, along with several MLAs, was also present during the meeting held on Saturday (March 7).
During the interaction, the participants held detailed discussions on efforts to restore peace, stability and normalcy in the state.
“We held detailed discussions on matters concerning the restoration of peace, stability, and normalcy in the state,” the Chief Minister said in a post on X.
The chief minister reiterated the government’s commitment to strengthening peace and promoting an atmosphere of mutual trust, dialogue and cooperation among different communities.
He said the state government would continue to work with determination to advance the goals of inclusive development and lasting peace in Manipur.
“Our government will continue to work with determination and collective resolve to advance the agenda of inclusive development and lasting peace in Manipur,” he stated.
The chief minister added that the government remains committed to building a united, stable and prosperous Manipur, guided by the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the principle of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas.”

The UNC has collaborated with other organisations, such as the Kuki Inpi Manipur, to call for peace and condemn acts of violence, including recent arson in Ukhrul and Kangpokpi districts.
The council reiterated that there will be no compromise regarding Naga ancestral land, political rights, and identity.
The United Naga Council also strongly opposed the proposed fencing along the India–Myanmar border, describing it as a move that would divide ancestral lands.
