Imphal: Three active cadres of the proscribed Kangleipak Communist Party- Apunba (KCP-A) have been arrested in connection with a bomb explosion that occurred at the Lilong Chajing area under Singjamei police station in Manipur’s Imphal West district.
As per reports, the explosion occurred on Sunday evening at the home of Puyam Rajendro Executive Engineer of the Rural Engineering Department, in Chajing Mamang Leikai under the Singjamei police station.
The blast, caused by the grenade allegedly lobbed by insurgents, did not result in any injuries.
According to police, the accused were picked up from different locations in Imphal West and Imphal East districts.

The Manipur Police said, “Following investigation into a case of bomb explosion at Lilong Chajing area under Singjamei-PS, Imphal West district, Manipur Police arrested three active cadres of KCP (Apunba) who were involved in the crime from different locations of Imphal West and Imphal East districts.”
The arrested accused has been identified as Laishram Bulu Singh (39) of Chana Mayai Leikai, Puyamacha David (22) of Lalambung Takhellambam Leikai and Ningthoujam Chalamba Singh (29) of Khurai Kongpal Sajor Leikai.
They were arrested from different locations in Imphal West and East districts between February 8 and 9.
Manipur Police said several items were recovered from the possession of the accused during the operation.
The police said that, a four-wheeler Maruti Gypsy bearing registration number MN01AK 3615, one .45 pistol with a magazine and 17 rounds of ammunition, three mobile phones, a wallet containing Rs 220 and an Aadhaar card, along with other incriminating items, were recovered from the trio’s possession.
