Imphal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will attend Manipur’s Sangai Festival as the chief guest.
Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s presence at the Sangai festival assumes significance as Manipur and Madhya Pradesh are partner states under the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat initiative.
Traditional dances of Madhya Pradesh will be presented at the Sangai Festival, the biggest tourism promotion festival of Manipur.
Artists from Navodit Art Institute of Madhya Pradesh will perform Mao tribe’s Naurata dance, and few other traditional dances of Manipur.
Badhaai Dance by Sagar’s Durga Namdev and Apumba Inat Sindam Shanglen by Sugnu Laibau Jagoi will be performed at the Sangai Festival, the organizers said.
Earlier, artists from Imphal had participated in the Lokrang Mahotsav of Bhopal and now artists from Bhopal are participating in Sangai Mahotsav of Imphal.
Under Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharata, Government of India has been organizing such programs since 2016. These programs will help in establishing cultural relations between the North-Eastern states of India with Central India.
