New Delhi: A delegation from the Kuki-Zo Council (KZC) held a meeting with representatives of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Wednesday to deliberate on matters concerning the Kuki-Zo community, including their ongoing movement and long-term aspirations.
The two-hour meeting, described as “positive and constructive” by the KZC in an official statement, focused on key issues central to the community’s demands.
The KZC stressed the importance of broad-based public consultation before any conclusive decisions are made regarding the future of the Kuki-Zo people.

The delegation was led by KZC Chairman Pu Henlianthang Thanglet and included eight members, representing various tribal groups within the Kuki-Zo collective.
According to the statement, MHA officials assured the delegation that the concerns raised would be carefully considered and reiterated the Centre’s commitment to continued engagement with community leaders.
Both sides agreed to keep communication channels open and to hold further discussions in the coming days.
