Imphal: Indian Army and the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences have signed an agreement for multi-specialty & super-specialty treatment of ex-servicemen of Manipur.
Army officials told Northeast News that a Memorandum of Agreement has been signed with the Regional Institute of Medical Science (RIMS) for welfare the ex-servicemen of Manipur.
As RIMS at Imphal is one of the premier multispecialty and super-speciality medical facilities of Northeast India, that is why the Indian Army decided to join hands with the institute.
On behalf of the Indian Army, the Memorandum of Agreement was signed by Regional Director Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme, Guwahati with the Director, RIMS, Imphal.
The Memorandum of Agreement will facilitate cashless and cap-less medical treatment to the ex-servicemen and their dependents in Manipur at CGHS rates.
Now, the ex-servicemen f Manipur will not have to travel to Guwahati for multi-speciality and super-speciality medical cover.
To assist the ex-servicemen in obtaining hassle free treatment at RIMS, the local military authority in Imphal has also established a Help Centre at RIMS which will be available to assist the veterans visiting the facility.
The arrangement which is a first of this kind in the state of Manipur, has been part of the endeavour of the Regional centre Ex-servicemen Contributory Health Scheme, Guwahati to provide holistic medical cover to the ex-servicemen.
