IMPHAL: Alert soldiers of the Indian Army successfully defused three large Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) in Manipur’s East Imphal on Sunday.
According to Defence spokesman Lt Col Amit Shukla, the soldiers, conducting a routine area surveillance operation in the district, discovered three powerful IEDs strategically placed on the road connecting Nongdam Tangkhul and Etham Tangkhul villages near Maphou Dam.
“The three IEDs were positioned along the road. Army columns promptly cordoned off the area, and a bomb disposal squad swiftly arrived to safely defuse the IEDs, thereby averting potential loss of life and injuries to locals,” Lt Col Shukla was quoted by a national news agency.
