Imphal: Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla on Wednesday lauded the steady progress of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Manipur as a centre of excellence in science and technology, while urging the institute to place greater emphasis on research, innovation, and the vision outlined in the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
Gracing the 12th convocation of NIT Manipur, Bhalla congratulated the graduating students and credited their success to the combined efforts of parents, teachers, and the institute.
“NIT Manipur has made commendable strides in science and technology. The institute must now deepen its focus on research, innovation, and the goals of the NEP 2020,” he said.
The governor encouraged graduates to balance tradition with innovation, uphold ethics and values, and make meaningful contributions to society and the nation.

He further reminded them that their knowledge and skills should align with the larger national mission of building a Viksit Bharat by 2047.
On the occasion, Bhalla distributed medals and degrees to outgoing students across various departments.
