This incident follows a similar outbreak of violence on January 27 when a village volunteer lost his life and three others were injured in a gunfight at Satang hill range, a Kuki village under Saikul sub-division in Kangpokpi district.
The deceased, identified as Tilminlun Khongsai (26) from NG Phainom Village, fell victim to the clash.
In a strong condemnation of the attack at Satang, the Coordination Committee on Tribal Unity (CoTU) alleged that the village volunteer was killed by the proscribed UNLF-MP and Meitei militia, the Arambai Tenggol, while defending the Satang area in the early hours of Saturday.
