HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has claimed that the violence in Manipur is the result of a conspiracy by some corporate entities to exploit the rich minerals in the state.
The strife between two ethnic groups during the last one-and-half years has created a war-like situation in Manipur, Reddy said.
Revanth was addressing a gathering at Ravindra Bharathi after unveiling “Nuts, Bolts of War & Peace”, a book authored by a politician, K Yadava Reddy.
“The root cause of this is the supply of thousands of modern weapons, such as AK-47s, to these communities,” the Chief Minister claimed.
By conspiring to turn Manipur into a conflict zone, some corporate forces plan to exploit Manipur’s mineral wealth, he said.
However, the Telangana Chief Miniser did not pinpoint any corporate entity for inciting ethnic violence in Manipur.
He also did not mention anything about the “rich mineral”, which the corporate entity tried to exploit in Manipur.
“I don’t understand as to why the Union government and armed forces were unable to establish peace when two tribal communities were fighting with modern weapons,” Revanth Reddy said.
He called for extensive debates across India on China’s occupation of Indian territory and the violence in Manipur.
“The undeclared war happening in India should be debated, and everyone should be made aware,” the Chief Minister said.
