Kangujam Ranjit Singh, senior Congress leader and six-time MLA, has reportedly stepped down from the post of Deputy Leader of the Congress Legislative Party (CLP) in the Manipur Legislative Assembly.
This development signals a notable shift within the party’s legislative leadership in the state.
As per reports, K Ranjit Singh has submitted his resignation letter to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, requesting to be relieved of his responsibilities as Deputy CLP leader.
Singh expressed gratitude to the party leadership for entrusting him with the responsibility.
His letter read, “It has been an honour to serve the party and uphold its principles and responsibilities. I am sincerely grateful for the trust and opportunity given to me. I request you to kindly accept my resignation.”

The Congress party has not yet made an official announcement regarding the resignation.
Singh, who represents the Sugnu Assembly constituency, is a six-time member of the Manipur Legislative Assembly and has been a prominent figure in the state’s Congress politics.
