Imphal: The Indian Army has established a modern computer lab and a Skill Development Centre in Manipur‘s Senapati district.
The computer lab was set up at PK Shedu Revival Foundation Children’s Home (Orphanage) in Kathiku Karong village and the Skill Development Centre was established at Taphou Pudunamei village.
The projects, which aim at community empowerment, have been facilitated under “Operation Sadbhavana”.
The computer lab at Kathiku Karong was established to aid in the educational development of children from orphanages.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Army officers and village chiefs from Karong and nearby areas, who praised the Army’s ongoing efforts to improve the lives of local communities.
The facility is equipped with seven computers, a printer, a projector, and other necessary accessories.
In a bid to empower local women, including widows and Veer Naris, the fully furnished Skill Development Centre was set up by the Army in Taphou Pudunamei.

The centre is equipped with 15 sewing machines, three embroidery machines, 25 chairs, two tables, two almirahs, and whiteboards.
The Skill Development Centre will offer courses in teaching, stitching, and embroidery, empowering women to become self-sufficient and earn a living.
