Imphal: Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal, IPS, Additional Director General (ADG) of the Border Security Force (BSF) Eastern Command, concluded a two-day visit to Manipur aimed at reviewing the security landscape and assessing the operational readiness of BSF personnel deployed in the violence-affected northeastern state.
The ADG arrived at Imphal’s Tulihal International Airport on August 1, where he was received by Inspector General Ravi Kant of the BSF M&C Frontier and other senior officers.
During the visit, Aggarwal paid a courtesy call on Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla, followed by meetings with Security Advisor Kuldiep Singh and Director General of Police Rajiv Singh, IPS, to discuss the prevailing law and order situation.
On the first day of his visit, Aggarwal toured various BSF locations in Thoubal district, where he interacted with commanders and ground personnel.
His inspection continued the following day in Bishnupur and Churachandpur districts, including a stop at the Subsidiary Training Centre (STC) in Churachandpur.

There, he addressed officers and troops during a Sainik Sammelan, emphasizing discipline, vigilance, and professional conduct.
The ADG encouraged the deployed personnel to carry out their duties with commitment and integrity, particularly in the context of maintaining peace and stability in the region.
His visit comes amid heightened tensions and ongoing security challenges across several districts in Manipur.
Aggarwal returned to Kolkata on August 3.
