Imphal: A total of 43 cadres of different insurgent outfits on Saturday laid down arms at a homecoming ceremony organized at the banquet hall of the 1st Manipur Rifles in Imphal.
Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh was present at the surrender ceremony and welcomed the cadres of the insurgent outfits back to the mainstream.
The 43 cadres of the insurgent outfits who surrendered on Saturday included 13 from KYKL, 5 from PLA, 5 from KCP (N), 11 from KCP (PWG), 5 from UNLF, 1 from PREPAK, 2 from PREPAK (PRO) and 1 NSCN (U).
The cadres of the insurgent outfits surrendered 19 sophisticated weapons, 17 hand grenades, 5 handheld sets, one Kenwood set, 9 PEK, 5 IED, and 209 rounds of ammunition.
“Happy to see more insurgents joining our work for building a progressive Manipur ….,” chief minister N Biren Singh tweeted.
