Imphal: Security forces in Manipur apprehended 12 militants belonging to various banned insurgent groups over the past two days, according to police reports on Monday.
The operations, conducted across multiple districts, targeted members of proscribed outfits involved in unlawful activities.
On Saturday, three active cadres of the United People’s Party of Kangleipak (UPPK) were arrested from the Langol Type-II area in Imphal West district.
Additionally, a member of the Kanglei Yaol Kanna Lup (KYKL) was detained near the India-Myanmar border in Tengnoupal district.
In another operation on Sunday, security forces apprehended a female cadre of the National Revolutionary Front of Manipur (NRFM) from the Imphal East district.

The People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK-Pro) also faced setbacks, as five of its members were captured during two separate operations conducted in Khongman Nandeibam Leikai, Imphal East, and Heinoupok, Imphal West.
Further intensifying the crackdown, two active cadres of the banned Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP-PWG) were arrested in operations at Lamphel and Samurou in Imphal West district.
Authorities have confirmed that investigations into the activities and networks of the detained militants are currently underway.
