IMPHAL: In a significant victory for India, Manipur’s Chitrakanan Singh Thoudam secured the prestigious second runner-up title in the Mister Universe Tourism Pageant 2024, hosted in Bali, Indonesia.
The event’s grand finale, held at the Fashion Hotel Legian on March 24, enchanted the audiences with its showcase of beauty, talent, and intelligence.
Taiwan’s Chien Yu Chen emerged triumphant, claiming the esteemed title of Mister Universe Tourism 2024, while the first runner-up position was attained by Larz Kent Dawson from the Philippines.
Thoudam’s exceptional achievement further embellishes India’s standing in the global arena of beauty and talent.
Reportedly, following his remarkable success in Bali, Thoudam promptly journeyed to Kathmandu, Nepal, on Monday to partake in another prestigious international competition.
Hailing from Khurai Lairiklengbam Leikai in Imphal East district, Manipur, Thoudam is recognised for his captivating presence and is presently employed in a private company in Imphal, holding a Diploma in Veterinary Science.
He has been actively engaged in various events, garnering recognition both nationally and internationally.
Notably, in December 2023, he showcased his talents at the 2nd edition of Mr. India, organised by Global Model India in Sangli, Maharashtra.
The Mister Universe Tourism Pageant in Bali, now in its 5th edition, seeks to promote “responsible tourism in the modern era”.
This year’s expansive 10-day competition featured contestants from eight countries, including India, Fiji, Netherlands, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Uganda, and Indonesia.
