Actor Vikrant Massey, known for his roles in 12th Fail and The Sabarmati Report, announced on Monday that he is taking a break from films to “recalibrate” and return home. This marks a rare instance of an actor publicly stepping back from the industry.
On Monday morning, Massey shocked his fans by announcing that he planned to step back from acting after 2025. In a note he shared on Instagram, the actor wrote, “The last few years and beyond have been phenomenal. I thank each and every one of you for your indelible support. But as I move forward, I realise its time to recalibrate and go back home. As a Husband, Father & a Son. And also as an Actor.”
Massey’s announcement follows the release of The Sabarmati Report, a film about the aftermath of the 2002 Godhra train burning, which hit theatres on November 15. During the film’s promotions, Massey revealed that he had received death threats on social media but remained unfazed, attributing the backlash to the film’s factual portrayal of events.
The actor, who gained widespread acclaim in 2023 with 12th Fail and the Netflix film Sector 26, expressed his gratitude to fans for their “phenomenal” support over the years.
