Pop superstar Taylor Swift is set to be inducted into the prestigious Songwriters Hall of Fame, becoming the youngest woman to receive the honour.
Swift, 36, became eligible this year as two decades have passed since the release of her debut single Tim McGraw.
She successfully cleared the ballot ahead of the Songwriters Hall of Fame’s 2026 Induction and Awards Gala, scheduled to be held in New York City on June 11, according to Female First UK.
The singer-songwriter was previously recognised with the Hall of Fame’s Hal David Starlight Award in 2010, an accolade given to emerging talent.
She will now become the first recipient of that award to be inducted into the Hall of Fame itself, marking a significant milestone in her career.
Swift will be joined by several other prominent names in this year’s induction class, including Alanis Morissette, KISS members Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons, and Kenny Loggins.
The list also features acclaimed non-performing songwriters Walter Afanasieff, Terry Britten, Graham Lyle and Christopher “Tricky” Stewart.
Afanasieff is widely known for his long-standing collaboration with Mariah Carey on hits such as Hero, My All and All I Want for Christmas Is You.
Britten and Lyle penned some of Tina Turner’s most iconic songs, including What’s Love Got to Do With It and We Don’t Need Another Hero.
Stewart, meanwhile, has written chart-toppers like Rihanna’s Umbrella and Beyoncé’s Single Ladies and Break My Soul.

Songwriters Hall of Fame chair Nile Rodgers said the induction class reflects the central role of songwriters in shaping the music industry.
He noted that every aspect of recorded music and live performance begins with the song and its creator, adding that this year’s honourees represent cultural impact across multiple genres.
Several well-known artists did not make the cut this year, including LL Cool J, Pink, Talking Heads’ David Byrne, Sarah McLachlan and members of The Go-Go’s—Charlotte Caffey, Kathy Valentine and Jane Wiedlin.
