Shillong: The life and legacy of Lou Majaw, a celebrated musical icon from Meghalaya, will be honoured in the upcoming screening of the rockumentary The Platinum Gong.
Directed by Sattyakee D’com Bhuyan and produced by Dipak Chandra Das, the film captures Majaw’s extraordinary journey—from his modest beginnings in Shillong to his rise as an icon known for his heartfelt music and distinct style.
The event is set for April 14 at The Evening Club, Shillong, starting with the screening of The Platinum Gong at 9 pm.
The tribute will continue with live music performances from 9:30 pm onward, bringing Majaw’s enduring influence to life.
Born in Shillong in 1947, Majaw has become a symbol of resilience and artistic authenticity.
With his guitar, his signature denim shorts, and his soulful lyrics, he has bridged generations and inspired countless fans to find their voice through music.
