As Aryan Khan prepares to debut into Bollywood’s directorial realm under Red Chillies Entertainment, his foray into the spirits industry has already marked a significant achievement.
D’YAVOL INCEPTION, the single malt Scotch whisky, co-owned by Aryan Khan and his father, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, clinched a prestigious gold medal at the International Spirits Challenge 2024, recently.
INCEPTION distinguishes itself with a blend of eight distinct single malts sourced from various regions across Scotland.
Notably matured in rare Madeira and first-fill Tawny Port casks, this whisky is bottled at 47.1% ABV without chill filtration, offering a robust flavour profile characterised by a harmonious balance of peat and sweet notes, culminating in a lingering finish.
Shah Rukh Khan expressed his elation over the accolade, stating that this gold medal is testament to the team’s hard work and passion.
“I’m thrilled to see D’YAVOL Luxury Collective receive accolades from our patrons,” he told a national daily.
Co-founder Bunty Singh echoed the sentiment, adding, “It’s gratifying to see D’YAVOL’s credentials recognised in prestigious competitions.”
Beyond its acclaimed single malt, D’YAVOL boasts a diverse portfolio that includes a single estate vodka from Poland and VORTEX, a blended Scotch whisky, both of which have also received accolades at international competitions.
The success of D’YAVOL INCEPTION comes amid a burgeoning trend among Indians towards single malt whisky, drawn by its intricate flavours and premium quality.
Leading Indian brands such as Amrut, Paul John, and Rampur have been pivotal in this shift, earning global recognition for their craftsmanship and unique maturation processes influenced by India’s diverse climate.
Single malt whisky, produced at a single distillery using malted barley, underscores India’s evolving palate and growing prominence in the global spirits’ landscape.
Celebrated for their distinct aromas and complex flavours, these whiskies embody a blend of tradition and innovation, resonating with whisky enthusiasts worldwide.
As Indians continue to explore and appreciate the nuances of single malt whisky, experts predict the category will continue to expand, driven by a pursuit of exceptional quality and a deepening appreciation for fine spirits.
