Superstar Salman Khan on Friday announced his next film, ‘Battle Of Galwan’, based on the 2020 Galwan Valley conflict.
The 59-year-old star took to Instagram to share the motion poster clip of ‘Battle of Galwan’ wherein he is seen in an intense avatar. In the poster, he appears bloodstained, with cuts on his face and hands, gripping a thorn-covered wooden stick.
The actor sports a moustache and a fierce expression, his eyes burning with intensity. The motion poster features the line: “Over 15,000 ft. above sea level, India fought its most brutal battle without firing a single bullet.”
The movie is directed by Apoorva Lakhia of “Shootout at Lokhandwala” fame.
In Battle of Galwan, Salman Khan is said to be playing Colonel B Santosh Babu, the officer who led 16 Bihar regiments during the 2020 Galwan Valley clash with Chinese soldiers.
On June 15, 2020, Ladakh’s Galwan Valley witnessed a violent clash between the Armies of India and China. The clash, in which 20 Indian soldiers were killed, was one of the worst in 45 years, and led to a military standoff with China and at least 11 rounds of military talks for the disengagement process.
Salman Khan’s last film was Sikandar, an action-packed thriller directed by AR Murugadoss, which was released on March 30, 2025.
The movie also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, and others. It revolves around a fearless youth, played by Khan, battling corruption. Despite high expectations, the film has faced criticism and a mixed box office reception.
