Mumbai: In his first public comments regarding the death threats he has received from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan offered a philosophical perspective on life and security, admitting that the heightened security around him has significantly impacted his daily routine.
Speaking candidly to reporters on Wednesday evening, the 59-year-old actor said, “Bhagwan, Allah sab unpar hai. Jitni umar likhi hai, utni likhi hai. Bas yahi hai,” which translates to “It is up to God. Whatever life is destined is destined. That’s all.”
Khan, known for his charismatic presence and frequent, unrestricted outings, explained that his life has drastically changed since the increase in security measures.
“I cannot do anything about it (security). Khallas. So I go from Galaxy (home) to shoot to Galaxy, no detours,” he added, referring to his daily routine now being limited to traveling between his home and work.
Khan’s security concerns first escalated in 2018 when gangster Lawrence Bishnoi openly threatened to kill him during a court hearing in Jodhpur related to the actor’s involvement in the 1998 blackbuck poaching case.
Since then, the actor has faced multiple threats. The most recent incident occurred in April 2024, when two shooters, allegedly linked to the Bishnoi gang, fired gunshots outside his Bandra residence.
The attackers were arrested soon after. This led to tighter security protocols, including bulletproof glass on his balcony and CCTV surveillance.
In June 2024, Navi Mumbai Police uncovered a plot to kill the actor while he was visiting his Panvel farmhouse, further heightening security measures.
The situation became more alarming following the October 2024 murder of Baba Siddiqui, a close friend of Salman Khan, which prompted additional precautions around the actor.

When asked about his elaborate security arrangements, Khan joked, “You guys are sweet; that’s why they are sweet to you. I don’t wish for them to be sweet with those people who are not sweet.”
He also expressed that the security measures, while necessary, cramp his personal style.
“It’s not when I’m with the press, but when I’m without the press. This (security) cramps my style,” Khan remarked.
The actor’s comments come ahead of the release of his much-anticipated film Sikander, scheduled to hit theatres this Sunday.
