Academy Award-winning composer AR Rahman has collaborated with acclaimed American songwriter Diane Warren and British-Indian artist RIKA for the latest track ‘Exotic’.
The collaboration brings together three very different but powerful creative forces. Music maestro Rahman is popular worldwide for his ability to blend classical, folk, and electronic sounds into unforgettable melodies.
Written by Warren, Exotic blends her emotive lyricism with Rahman’s genre-defying production and RIKA’s soulful, multicultural vocals. The result, according to Warner Music India, is more than a love song—a universal rhythm that connects people across cultures.
Warren has written some of the most famous songs in modern music, including hits for Celine Dion, Aerosmith, and Beyoncé. RIKA, the youngest of the trio, has been making waves as a voice of the South Asian diaspora in global pop.
In a statement, Rahman stated, “Producing the track ‘Exotic’ for a remarkable songwriter like Diane has been a delightful experience. Diane’s prolific nature, coupled with her enduring childlike enthusiasm for her craft, is truly inspiring. I genuinely hope you all embrace RIKA, as her incredible energy and captivating vibe are sure to resonate with you.”
“Working with AR. Rahman has been nothing short of an honour. To bring Diane Warren’s beautiful words to life under his guidance has been a dream come true,” said RIKA, reflecting on the collaboration.
She said the collaboration felt like “a dream come true.” In her words, Rahman’s creativity pushed her to explore new sides of her voice, while Warren’s lyrics gave her the chance to express emotions in a way she had never done before.

Warren, whose songwriting legacy spans global hits, expressed excitement about the release: “I’m so excited for everyone to hear Exotic! AR truly made something unique and brilliant, and with RIKA’s fantastic vocals, it is unlike anything else you’ve heard.”
The track has been released by Warner Music India and is already available on all major streaming platforms.
